I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and have a B.S. in Business
Administration with a minor in psychology from Northeast Missouri
State University, now Truman State University. I moved to
Jackson, Mississippi in 1994 and then to Long Beach, Mississippi
in 1998. I am constantly amazed and thankful that I live in such a
beautiful place. I am also a huge animal lover and currently have
4 dogs and a one-eyed cat. I foster dogs (including many amazing
greyhounds) and have fostered motherless kittens for many years
as well.
My journey into jewelry making began in 2015. It started with
simple wire stringing and some chain mail. A short time later, I
began bead weaving and it quickly became a passion for me. I
also do pearl knotting and more recently ventured into bead
embroidery. Bead embroidery has quickly become my favorite
beading style. It’s fun bringing an idea in my head to life and
often watching it morph into a completely different project as I’m
working. Sometimes I have no idea how my project will end up
looking! I use glass seed beads, crystals, pearls, metal and many
different kinds of cabochons including stone (like agate, jasper
and laboradite) and bone. My pieces can take anywhere from a
few hours to complete to several weeks. I absolutely love to make
jewelry and find it very relaxing. I have also taught bead weaving
to others who want to learn patterns and techniques.
