I began making jewelry shortly before retiring from my work as a Clinical Social Worker. Like many jewelers, I started with basic beading, but quickly decided to expand my skills by taking classes in other techniques. Classes have included wire wrap, lampworked glass, PMC, and numerous metal smithing techniques at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, through Rio Grande, and locally. I taught myself how to fuse glass and often use the fused glass pieces that I created in my work with silver. In my most recent work, I have concentrated on metal smithing techniques including soldering and fusing metals (copper and sterling silver), to create unique jewelry. My inspiration comes from a variety of sources. I teach classes locally and have provided demonstrations in various jewelry making techniques. I have participated as a vendor in coastal art shows and I am an Artist Member of Gallery 782.
